TV I'm currently enjoying....

We had my 6 year old grandson at the weekend. "What's this?" he asked when I put on Dad's Army. Within minutes, he was laughing. It was the episode with the bomb in the bank, which was a classic.

How on earth do you find the time to watch all these shows anyway?

By the time I have sat down of an evening, there is usually only about an hour until I have to go to bed. I know I am out quite a lot but I know some of you are too.

I will have a look at some of the shows but things like Bones and Rizzoli etc are brilliant books and from the bits I have seen they have changed the whole dynamic of the character interaction so I don't think I will watch those.

Suits was great.

I've recently been filling in on the episodes of The Professionals i missed growing up.

 

I don't have time to just sit and watch, but i like to have something on when i'm fixing computers at home.

Ah, TV. How I fail to miss it. 2.5 years without licence, aerial or TV, and I've just bought the DVD set of Life on Mars..ha. Because I like the MK3 cortina.

You know, I never had TV when I lived on my own - 4 years at Uni, 2 with my parents again and then 2 in my flat and I never had it, which is what prompted my DVD collection to grow to 500+ titles and my gaming career to expand to over 80,000GS on XBox and pretty much every RPG played to death at least twice on the major consoles!

 

About 3 weeks after my OH moved in 16 months ago her Dad gave us a FreeSAT box, which at the time I really thought I would never use as most of what I watch is either rented from LoveFilm, borrowed from mates or purchased on DVD. However, channels like CBS Action which carry ST:TNG and Walker:Texas Ranger caught my attention, as did BBC3's Family Guy and American Dad! doubles each evening. Throw in E4 showing the new epsodes of TBBT and now I wouldn't want to not have it!

The list is worryingly long for me:

 

 

• Bones - waiting for Series 7 to start again - I have just completed watching the whole of the previous 6 series
  
• The Walking Dead - brilliant (just got to watch the last couple of episodes of S2)
  
• Grimm - Brilliant, loving the semi comedic values but the story line is quite good
  
• Alcatraz - started slow imho but can see it turning into a good series
  
• Currently catching up on the last series of Stargate: Atlantis (never got to see the last series)
  
• Sadly, quite loving some of the stuff (that's not alien orientated) on History - such as: American Pickers, Storage Wars, Pawn Stars etc
  
• Man v Food! That bloke is nuts - but a must watch if you want to figure out why America has one of the highest obesity rates
  
• Fringe is epic! Watched from series one and it has just got better and better!!!
  
• Sky 1's Obese: A year to save my life - the UK version was great a real inspiration to someone who is a tad on the large side. The US Version on the other hand is a little OTT
  
• Sky's F1 coverage hasn't been too bad - commentary is better than the BBC imho (crofty has some real passion for the sport)
  
• Started to watch Touch which was interestingly gripping with some very cool twists and turns (very sixth sense/ beautiful mind type of prog)

I have to agree about the time thing, I don't think I've even switched the TV on for over a week now. Just don't see it as that big a priority any more, much more interesting things to be doing, especially now we're in Summer Time and have the lighter evenings :-)

If I was staying put I would consider blackout curtains at this point, all joking aside betwen 4-6pm now the sun shines right into the flat at eye-level when on the sofa, really annoying

 

When I move to my new house I've already worked out where to put the TV&Xbox360 so that windows/glare won't be a problem

 

I'd LOVE a room without windows, all that bright stuff outside is overrated anyway.

Here's the TV shows I watch. Think nearly all of the series have finished apart from 1 or 2 so my TV viewing is going to be dull until the end of the year (note I *ahem* watch the episodes when they 1st get released in America not 6 months later when they are released here).

Yeah that seems to happen with a lot (all?) US shows - I.E House is on a "mid-season break" at the moment.

Depends what you're used to I suppose, in the UK we are very used to / reliant on our weekly scheduled TV that never changes, over in the US they have always had more erratic shedules so that's just what they are 'used to'.

 

They also go MAD and have adverts all over the place when a new episode is due to be on, so I'm guessing most people wouldn't expect a new episode to be on unless the see it advertised.
