nicholab Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 What backup tape should we go for with are disk to disk to tape back up solution LTO3 or AIT4? I think a would be quite nice Quantum Superloader 3 - LTO-3 16 slots.
john Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 LTO 3 then in an autoloader setup. DB and others have Tandberg setups that they are very pleased with.

kmount Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 LTO3 here, we've found it much more reliable than the old AIT3's we were using.
maniac Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 LTO3 all the way, it's exceptionally reliable for a tape system. We had the quantum LTO3 tape changer at my last school, although we only had one tape carousel for it, so it only held 8 tapes which was more than enough. It makes some strange noises when it works, but does the job well; 2 years of operation and not a single hardware fault! Mike.
Hightower Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 I wish we had LTO - These AIT tapes are doing me head in!
