Thanks to all;

 

I think, considering all this I feel a bit more comfortable with the following:

 

hyper v 3 ready.jpg

 

that way, later on I could make use of the SMB 2.2 on the two filservers for failover and replication of VMs, depending on how easy this could be implemented

Stick with Dl 380's and add massive RAM..

 

we have exchange , AD, AV, SCES,UAG,School management system's etc etc are virtualized... :)

 

in three Box's of Dl 380.

Interestingly, I looked at the power subsystem on our C7000 Bladecenter earlier in the week.

 

It's drawaing 2.3Kw

 

That's 14 Physical Blades

 

3 Blades running 26 Virtual Servers on

1 Blade running 1 Physical Server

10 Blades runnign 44 Virtual Desktops,

 

so that's 467 Computers for 2.3Kw......

Lol bump thread from the dead!

 

I ended up putting in 2xDL380 G7s and a MSA P2000 via SAS 6Gb in the end..will add another DL380 host this year or use it to try out Hyper V 3!
