vikpaw Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 If you missed the news over xmas, like i did, then there's some great news for LogMeIn users. They have now moved to a free model, so you can get the new LogMeIn app for Free on the App Store - LogMeIn LogMeIn site: https://secure.logmein.com/products/ios/ Article and link to press release on Engadget: LogMeIn remote desktop app goes free on iPhone and iPad -- Engadget It's awesome on an iPad, but still very usable on an iPhone. Very sleek, with nice use of gestures, you can even handle multiple screens easily, which is a pain on a desktop. Haven't quite got used to clicking, but it's very powerful. The old app, ignition is still available and you can also go Pro for extra features, but for basic remote support, i think this is invaluable, especially on those nights, when you get that late night phone call asking for a password reset 3
vikpaw Posted January 26, 2012 Author Posted January 26, 2012 I was contemplating going pro, as sometimes it's useful to get the advanced features like sound, or easily push files back and forth.
Sylv3r Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 I bought Ignition for about £20 about 6 months ago and it's well worth the money. I also have purchased a pro account for my forest server, perfect for getting files from home to / from the servers.
hit Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 I love the new app, got it a couple of weeks ago. The only problem is that we ae changing over to LGFL2 in the next few weeks and they are blocking logmein full stop! Ho-hum, good while it lasts.

I have a connection to my PC, from that i can RDP to the servers if i need, which is a bit cumbersome but does the trick.
vikpaw Posted January 31, 2012 Author Posted January 31, 2012 Why no android? The engadget link, mentions that it's coming in 2012, however the press release beneath didn't mention anything. The comments get too rude to bother reading. I found this link, but not sure if it's official: LogMeIn Ignition Free Android App I'm sure it's coming. I reckon they develop iDevice first as it's harder to code. Hope that helps.
