Mr_T Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Just got my PB 11mins. The game only includes MotherBoard, Proccessor memory and hard disk. Post PB's here :-0
GrumbleDook Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I can presume that this does not include delivery time?
ICTNUT Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 3 days for 30 pairs of blanking plates <- this includes delivery 7 Days for 20 replacement mice for incorrectly delivered ones <- this also includes delivery.
Spot Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 For reference, does the time start from when the call is first answered, or from when you actually start talking to a technician? If it's from when the call is first answered, 11 minutes is impressive!
ICTNUT Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Ah the trick is not to talk to the technician but directly to your account manager that why I can get things done alot quicker than speaking to a tech (of sorts!)
Mr_T Posted May 11, 2007 Author Posted May 11, 2007 The 11 mins started from the moment the Service Tag was taken by the reception.
Guest Guest Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 1 hour - listening to "New york New york" 35mins - techy asking you to "change the nic" 25mins - trying to explain to the techy that the nic is on the motherboard therefore you cannot change it 20min - running diagnostics to "prove" the nic is faulty 10mins - explaining to the tech that the nic "passed" the diagnotic and that "no it still doesnt work" 2 days - waiting for the engineer to arrive with a new motherboard 2 more days - waiting for the engineer to arrive with the *correct* motherboard lmao
Mr_T Posted May 11, 2007 Author Posted May 11, 2007 This was suposed to be a Personal best not a personal worst!! post
Gatt Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Next working day for engineer to come out and replace motherboard on my inspiron 6000 laptop called them at around 13:30, and they were out about 9am the following day...
Kyle Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I can never get through to our account manager, i think she is permanently on answer machine.
maark Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 must be same account manager - can never get hold of her for quotes though their kit and support is good otherwise I wouldn't bother with them anymore
broc Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Don't bother trying our client manager any more, not after waiting a week to get a quote for a PE2900. I use DELL resellers and buy DELL Outlet (refurbished) systems, much cheaper. Got a Precision M65 with 3 years warranty for £600 a couple of weeks ago.
DSapseid Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 I read the title as 'the how fast can you take apart a dell game!' 11 minutes is impressive you must work nextdoor to the supply depot.

Guest kerrymoralee9280 Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Erm, what we one about here? A Dell game? Where you get it from? Sorry for being thick.

Guest kerrymoralee9280 Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Ah I see, like I say sorry for being thick. We don't use Dell, Misco is our go to guys.
carnforthhigh Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 2 days from placing the order to signing th edelivery notices for an order which was 63 boxes. The order was for 29 Computers, 29 TFT Monitors, 1 Server, and 3 Hard Disks for an existing server.
Espada Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 1 hour - listening to "New york New york" 35mins - techy asking you to "change the nic" 25mins - trying to explain to the techy that the nic is on the motherboard therefore you cannot change it 20min - running diagnostics to "prove" the nic is faulty 10mins - explaining to the tech that the nic "passed" the diagnotic and that "no it still doesnt work" 2 days - waiting for the engineer to arrive with a new motherboard 2 more days - waiting for the engineer to arrive with the *correct* motherboard lmao At least you didn't have the "we don't have any hard discs for your server in the country, we will need to order one in from the US" 8O Thanks IBM love the 4 hour call out 4 hour fix warranty.
SteveB_NI Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 I've had to phone Dell twice recently... 1st call was to fix a dodgy display - amongst the stuff I had to try was to stroke the laptop with a magnet (got some funny looks that day!) and also try to run a diagnostic program. He didn't seem to understand when I told him I would love to run the program but I can't see a thing! After 40mins he agreed with me it may be a faulty connection, and told me to open the laptop (I didn't want to do this beforehand incase it affected warranty). I unplugged the display cable and re-attached - job done. Total time: 1hr. 2nd call was to report a keyboard with various broken keys - well sticky keys. Again they tried to get me to run a diagnostic program. I apologised to him, and instead asked for a replacement keyboard to be sent out, which I am able to fit myself. Total time: 15mins (including queue time). Accidental damage cover is great
