pete Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 The default one on the S2 is rubbish and I'm sick of having to make playlists when all I want is "randomly shuffle, then start playing". So what are you using?
Butters Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 It's the one thing Android has not cracked yet. I've used a tonne of music players and they are all rubbish! Last one I tried was PowerAmp which was ok but nothing special. 1
Guest Guest Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 If, like me, all you want is it to play music from your folder structure and have little lag between tracks Subsonics client in offline mode works well.
Ace1742334984 Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 I used 3 (cubed) for a while, did the trick and has a slick interface. To play songs at random select shuffle and start listening by playing the song presented - no need to create playlists (although you can) 1
gl3nnym Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 I use doubletwist. This has a random shuffle of all songs feature and looks good on the lock screen too. 1
Domino Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Doubletwist here too. Nice looking, free (unless you want extra bits, some of which are very good) and easy to use. WIN! 1
Oaktech Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 the one that comes in the 7 digital app is not bad... works from the lock screen too.
sted Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 the default one on my htc sensation seems ok i even managed with 0 setup to throw music to my tv(and as thats hooked up to my amp that as well) seems to play muisc ok possibly not the best bit of software out there but does the job
enjay Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 The built-in one on my HTC Sensation is pretty slick, and works through the lock screen. DoubleTwist looks good too, especially with AirSync so I may go to that when I get my tablet at Christmas and need to start managing three devices (PC, phone, tablet).
edutech4schools Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Winamp winamp winamp. Winamp has been the main free player on pc's for 10ish years and the android app is very very good. You can get it to automatically pull songs you have not listened to for a while from you NAS or main music collection wirelessly. The sound quality (I am a sound quality freak) is imo better than any other android music app, but that's just my opinion.
peterp Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Mixzing is pretty good. Working and decent graphic equaliser on it too.
SkywOrca Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I personally like to listen to my music by albums, and so far the best one I've found that can actually shuffle full albums is Mort player. The only issue I have with it is they haven't cracked fully gapless playback, so there is a minute stutter in mix/live cds. I just wish he would get around to sorting that and adding the ability to create genre filters, but maybe these features are what's keeping him from removing its perennial beta status. Also, I'm sure many already know about it, but apart from the fact that it's skinability is far less advanced than Winamp, foobar2000 is a very good (if Windows only ) music player. Fully supports proper album shuffle (not just based on folder structure), genre filters, replay gain and has a pretty well supported community of addon creators. It is also regularly highly rated by true audiophiles, if that sort of thing is important to you.
pscott Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I use the built in one on my S2, plays random songs from all my tracks....
