north-ict Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Hi Guys and Gals, Just wanted to get your suggestions on video editing software. Basically looking maybe into getting the kids to do light editing for (Junior school children). We have CC3 windows XP network. Since the Specs of the machines vary(Pentium 4's and core 2 duos with a mixture of 1gb and 2gb RAM) in the ICT suite something light would be better suited to maybe start out on editing. That or i have suggested to maybe purchase in the new financial year some media editing capable machines. All your guys and gals input would be greatly appreciated.

round2it Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 you could try videopad its not free but does a good job and is basic enough for the kids free trial available and also it works after the trial but with nag screens Video Editing Software. Download Free Video Movie Editor they also have some free stuff for you to use check the downloads section 1

This was mentioned about 2yrs here but unfortunately barely any progress has been made and it's still a very buggy, crashy alpha product. To be honest, i'd just stick with movie maker initially until/unless they get more proficient. 1

mobisallen Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Yes, Movie maker is the best option for the starters as it gives all the features required at the basic level, most important is that it is available free of cost. For windows 7 it is not built-in but you can install it free. VCD cutter is also a very easy & useful software just for cutting and merging the videos.
