When is too late for a BBQ?

Just thought, as I sat here, December rapidly closing in, munching on a properly barbequed burger and sausages, just when is it inappropriate to have a BBQ? I mean noone talks about it this time of year yet I can't see any downsides? If it's not raining, what's the problem - cold certainly isn't, who needs to be cold with flames about!

I deffo think it's inappropriate to have a BBQ much past about half 10.....

 

You'll have consumed a lot of drink....things get rowdy....easy to get burnt!

 

As for seasons, anytime is a good time for a BBQ!!!

We had our first BBQ on the 29th January this year ( i know this as it was my cousins birthday ). We are planning to have one when it snows just to get a picture of us sitting around the BBQ!

 

We pretty much do them year round at my cousins and we have an open fire pit which was purchased for £15 when focus went bust!

 

Can't moan about being cold then!

nice! Glad I'm not alone in wanting them be an all year round thing Can't beat a barbie! Tbh we only did it as our oven is unplugged due to kitchen revamp. But it worked rather well!

We also tend to use the BBQ as an oven, we have done all sorts from Roasted Joints to Dauphinoise potatoes to baked Alaska

I just had smoked chilli burgers for dinner (courtesy of my mum - she's been a godsend recently). Done slowly on the BBQ for a few hours, was lovely.

On Boxing Day in 2000, my brother and I BBQ'd outside in the snow (in Cornwall) in our BARE FEET!

Because we're Kiwis... and Kiwis BBQ at Xmas!

The other year we had one on boxing day and was at a friends for his birthday on sat with the bbq going.

^ Second this None of us really eat Christmas turkey so we usually have a BBQ'd steak on Christmas day instead \o/

If you have the appropriate attire and can shelter the BBQ so that the rain, snow or sleet can't put it out then there is always the need to BBQ at any time of the year and at any time of the day or night.

 

I would BBQ every day if I had the resources and the time as the food from a BBQ is the best food in my opinion ever!!

2 years ago when it was thick snow me and a few mates (who all lived within 4 houses of each other) had a BBQ in the middle of the street in the snow, it was good fun.
