Been given a HTC HD2 with Windows Mobile. Im trying to put Android on it.

Following the guide here:

[27.Sep.2011][MAG/cLK] NexusHD2-Gingerbread V3.1a (GRK39F)(Android 2.3.6)[tytung_r12] - xda-developers

But Im struggling to get the 2nd stage of either of the options to work.. Ive got the HSPL 2.08 installed OK, but I cant get it to boot into the MAG/cLK bootloader..

Anyone clued up with this stuff that could help me?

Cheers

i have android inatlled on my HTC HD2 im using the SD Card method as i want to keep the windows os just incase i ever have to clame on my insurance, i can atleast pop out the SD Card and it will just be stock.

i just upgraded the rom a few weeks back, got BoxmaXMccm S3.5 Runnymede v3.1 installed on it at the moment, it can be a bit slugish as the one i have on is really designed for a device with a bit more ram and a dual core processor

not to bad though, got it connected to wifi, my job system and exchange/calendar, works for what i need it to.

my next phone will be android from stock though.

I was thinking in the mean time (while i wait for the next phone i should get) i should put android on my HD2. Anyone recommend a version which is stable and works well for the HD2 ( I get a bit lost on XDA developers).

Should a i do a run off micro sd card setup or a install to the device itself?

Im running the 1.3 versin of this:

[9.Mar.2012] NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.3-CM9 V1.5 - xda-developers

and mate at work has upgraded to the 1.5 version but it requried a fresh install so I havent bothered. So i would recommend the 1.5 isntall, onto the internal memory, and then use the SD2HD util to expand the internal memory onto the SD card.

Heres some useful links:

xda-developers - View Single Post - [07/12/11][v4.2.0.1] HD2 NAND Toolkit - Toolkit for HD2 Users [Video][NEW]

A really simple app to get HSPL and Magldr onto the phone, and to repartition.

The thing that took me ages to figure out was I had to flash a different Radio onto it. Once I had the correct radio, Radio+Leo+2.15.50.14 , everytihing went smooth.

Awesome its just annoying that the questionable upgrade to windows 7 was in the air and never actually happened for the phone officially. And the fact like things like whatsapp and other apps you can't really get with winmobo 6.5 so i want to at least be able to connect while i hold out for something.

to be honest i never tried it with windows. I had a nokia e71 and this phone was being thrown out coz it was 'broken'. The windows install had become corrupt and it wouldnt boot. A few hours on xda and I had it up and running again :)

I tried out the Mango Win7 ROM but didnt like it too much. Theres a 7.5 ROM for this phone already and I dont think its even RTM yet ;p

The best way to use android on HTC HD2 is to copy it on SD, so that you always have the option to come back to window in case of any problem. But it still does not match with the built in android phones. I have experienced android 2.3.4 on HTC HD2.

Converting HD2 to android is a good option to experience android for the first time, but if you want to enjoy the real feel of android, go for a phone with built in android
