Hi

We have had a brand new RM CC4 installation put in with Windows 7 installed on all machines. When we install office 2010 onto the machines the very first login of every computer takes a minute longer. If we leave the computer on the login screen for about 15 seconds the computer will then login within about 10-15 seconds. Also, every other login on that computer only takes around 10 seconds until it is restarted again. If we try the same with a PC without Office Installed as soon as the login screen appears it only takes 10-15 seconds to login. Has anyone else experienced this or know of a service that slowas down the login when Office is installed?

I have tried so many different things to sort the problem and RM have just said this is what Office does:( but I can't believe Office would add that much time to the login???

Thanks

If you enable verbose logon messages, it may give you a clue.

In a vanilla 2008 R2/7 network this is located:

Computer Config > Admin Templates > System - Verbose vs normal status messages - Enabled

I would recommend you check the event logs too (on the local machine).

I must admit we've had Office 2010 installed for as long as we've had a CC4 network.

From cold bootup attempting to logon as soon as the logon box is available takes a little longer than leaving it for 30 seconds or so - I guess theres so many services still starting up / AV checks etc going on in the background that it will take that little bit longer.
