Office for mac saves in .docx same as office 2007 and 2010, if you are using 2010 you can use the office compatibility pack. Although this is assuming she is using microsoft office and not key notes. 1
stevenwba Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 you should still be able to open them as long as you have this installed Download Details - Microsoft Download Center - Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint File Formats 1
dwightgenius Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 You can use OpenOffice, it's free. Scifigirl Posted October 10, 2011 Author Posted October 10, 2011 Unfortunately the compatibility pack didnt work - but i have managed to get the persn in question to resave the docs in an openable format. Thanks All.
dwightgenius Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 The compatibility pack is used to open Office 2007 and Office 2010 files (file extension ending with x like .pptx, .docx, .xlsx, etc.) on Office 2003 on PC.
FN-GM Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 He probably has t saves hem in office. RTF files are usually saves by the free text editor in mac (wordpad equivalent). But you should be able to open them no problem
