Done but with error on the page

Hello there,

 

Can anyone help. Alot of sites that I and others visit in school seem to load ok but alot of the time I get 'Done with error on the page' message.

 

When using Yahoo Mail I can't reply to messages beciause of this and also teachers are saying they have the same issues when visiting sites too such as the Edexcel site. Strange!

 

We're running IE7 with Jave 6 Up 26 and the latest Flash and Shockwave players.

Does the problem happen when you use IE8?

Also what do you use for your web filtering - you may find its removing some data thats essential for the page to work.

I've manually installed IE8 onto my RM CC3 PC and it is still happening but nowhere near as bad as it does with IE7.

 

As for filtering we use RM SafetyNet Plus.

i've seen it when the pages have some links to a 3rd party webpage (for all sorts of things like analytical things etc) which are actually blocked. when you load a page watch the filter block records and have a look

Further to the above I would say your first point of call is in the RM SafetyNet - if you have a support contact it might be worth a call to RM.

I have seen recently where a proxy (SmoothWall in our case) will filter a tiny bit of a javascript file which causes it to fail (hence done with errors on page). The solution for me was to check through the javascript files referenced by the main page, and check for anything going missing (diff between the versions fetched via proxy vs direct) or in the case of smoothwall it helpfully adds "filtered by smoothwall" or similar to the code so it was easy to see. Firefox view source helps greatly here as you can just click the links in the source window and see if the files come through unfiltered.
