Right, I have to make a product with at least 3-Program-able chips with-in the circuit, there are no bounds on what I can do, only that, I must have it completed by the end of Year 11. Edited by DrunkenMafia

Both are good but not what I need, mainly what most people are doing, is an attachment for a computer or even a money box. i want to do something different, any other suggestions?

The thing is, the actual end product isn't the key thing here - it is the design and implementation work, and the report that get you the marks - so, don't choose something just because you want to be different. Different usually means more difficult to get assistance with, and more difficult to implement and a poorly implemented unique design is not going to get you as many marks as a well implemented product that others are making too.

I made an alarmed electronic money box that counted the amount of the coins you put inside it last year. I wish I had some pictures of it actually it looked like a flight data recorder and was pretty cool I thought :p

I'd suggest popping in to your nearest Maplin and taking a look at their kits (don't use them though, I'm sure your assessor would know!) and also this series of books book (available regularly in Maplin):101 Spy Gadgets for the Evil Genius - Google Books

That should give you some ideas if you want to be different!

Don't be too quick to disregard @localzuk advice though, at GCSE level they will be looking more at your design and implementation skills than the end product itself
