Hey me again,

 

Just to let you guys know about another cool remote desktop tool and very very cheap. Its called vnc scan by boztech and only cost £40 per technician. It has the ability to easily roll out VNC and administrate VNC. Has helped us give better support to staff as we can do more remote tasks.

 

It also has a load of other goodies best thing to do is download the demo and have a blast with it.

Or you could use gencontrol from gensortium, its free and it connects to all your pcs in your network like tightvnc

£40 per techie, now that sounds like value for money, may just take a look at the product.

 

indeed it is we jumped at it after we tested it made our jobs a hell of a lot easier

or alternatively use GPO to push out RealVNC and import a reg file on startup to change the password when required (the password is encrypted, so anyone with access to the reg file can't see the password)

I had a look at VNC Scan, just about to put in an order for it when I was told no you can't have it because the company is based in Ireland, find someone who will sell it to you in England.

 

I just use Lanview 3 now. No problems there and I GPO Lanview and TightVNC out as standard to all new machines.

is a great product, bit buggy in places,but a quick look at the forums shows you a work around.
