Any CMIS users out there in the Leics or Northampton area? Looking initially for an opinion on it, I guess, but with the potential of possibly arranging a visit at some point to see it in action and discuss it with the managers and users.

Currently using SIMS but considering options.

Many thanks.

We are CMIS users - quite close to that area. My opinion is that the system is OK (it does the job and has it's quirks). Serco support is reasonably good with a fairly good forum. The Personnel side is a little weak, reporting is a bit ... err ... clunky (but you can get access to the underlying database). Interfaces to other systems are a bit of an afterthought for third party products - but that's not exactly the systems fault.

one thing i really like about cmis. Install it on a share and all you have to do is provide a shortcut to it for your users. makes updating a breeze.

Core Admin staff get access to the Admin app here, 95% of staff only use ePortal which is the web front end which has everything they need.

Must admit this is one of my big loves for Facility over SIMS, so much easier for access to all and the fact that ePortal gives parental access right out of the box, you can customise it and just use it simples so much easier and no need for extra products or 3rd party programs to extract the data.

It is a powerful product that provides great flexibility - often there are multiple ways to do things which can provide a challenge with trying to learn the system, due to the numerous methods that data/functions can be accessed/implemented.
