Norphy Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I'm trying to download it but but perhaps rather predicatably it's timing out when I attempt it.
Tricky_Dicky Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Downloading the desktop version now. Will do a backup of the server and then do that as well.
Norphy Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I've got it now, it looks like the Mac App Store doesn't like traversing our firewall. Connected the Mac to our DMZ and it rocketed along, about 5MB/sec. That'll save a little time tonight!
Dos_Box Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 post pictures of it downloading! Fanbois hit a new low 4
mac_shinobi Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Fanbois hit a new low I can use Quicktime X and record a screen cast of it downloading in real time ? I don't get paid till friday so won't be able to buy it until friday though, sigh CCC or Super Duper to make a backup though unless anyone else has a better suggestion / idea for making a bootable backup of my current installation ?
Norphy Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 (edited) I've got it installed now... it seems OK. Not an awful lot different from Snow Leopard at first glance apart from the transitions. There is one thing that's driving me mental though! I have a Magic Trackpad. They've changed the two fingered scrolling behaviour, it's been reversed. FFS I'm trying to browse a webpage, not fly an aeroplane! I can't see a way to change it back either. Harrumph. The iOS style autocorrect has the potential to be useful or annoying too, not sure which yet! /edit seen the thread in the Mac forum and changed the scrolling behaviour. They've removed the three fingered navigation gestures! How annoying! Edited July 20, 2011 by Norphy
andy_nic Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Started my download off at 7:30 last night, it finished at 5:50 am this morning. Won’t be installing it on my MacBook pro yet, going to try and get it to go on my white old one first have a play and test it out.

Lion seems rather good, I like how full screening an app puts it as an additional work space off to one side, kinda matches up with how I work on linux with 1 program per desktop and swapping between them.
