Simcfc73 Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I seem to have a bit of a problem deploying new agents. I tried to install but got an error message so I thought I would just use the trusted Simsinst.exe to install the base image to the workstation. When I go and try to install the Solus 3 agent I am getting 'No connection can be made because the client actively refused it' There is no firewall on the client, I turned it off. i cannot delete the client as it says the install is active so I can't remove it from the database.. when I click 'check status' it comes up with the error again. This has happened on a few machines for no apparent reason.. its a brand new install of XP SP3. Anyone got any ideas?
woodham Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 did you ever find a solution to this as im getting the same issue with the same setup client fails to install, you try and reinstall it and get the error 'No connection can be made because the client actively refused it' however the install screen sits at innstalling so you cant do anything with it. spent most of today trying to fix this but got nowhere really need to resolve it soon Andy
pcully Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 I also have this problem but I did resolve the hung installation by downloading the latest ESSUpgrade.exe Hope this helps

matt40k Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Right, so the workstation has no firewall? Does the server have a firewall? Are they on the same subnet? Are they on the same domain?
woodham Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Clients are now installing ; It's looking more like it was an issue with timeouts confusing the server and locking up the install having reset the server using the ess util the clients are now installing, workstations and server have all recomended ports open all on the same subnet and the same domain.
teky Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 (edited) I'm having the same issue here, after following the above and it still not working have had a look for the solus agent service and found that it will not start on the machine i'm installing it on. Have Win7 SP1 x86 clients here. Just trying to work out why the service wont start now Edit: The installation works fine on some machines with the same OS and SP, but not on others Edited August 9, 2011 by teky
