Flatpackhamster Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Well I've been playing it on and off for a week or so and I don't know what the whining is all about. I'm playing on a PC so I don't see the long load times and poor graphics. But multiplayer is good fun. Something that would have been fun would be the chance to race the remote control or full-size cars in multiplayer against other people. It's very linear but that's a console thing, isn't it?
MK-2 Posted June 28, 2011 Author Posted June 28, 2011 I'm playing on a PC so I don't see the long load times and poor graphics. seriously? on my pc even after a save game is loaded, if i die within 10 secs, it would take another 30 to load the same saved game again, and you're telling me on the pc the animations are smooth (take for example the part just after the start where he drops the controller and the two girls walk away from him....the girls walking animation is fluid and not jerky?)

Yes, mine's fine. Load times when I die are 6-8 seconds. No jerking animation. I don't have a computer of doom or anything, it's a quad-core with 4GB RAM running XP, and it's an ATI graphics card (can't remember the model). It's 2 years old and the card cost about £120 then, so it wasn't exactly top of the line. I don't have a SSD, just standard 7200RPM drives. Maybe I've just been lucky.
AlfaTech Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 As a final post from me, even though I have not played it, and have no intention of playing with it, and will most likely never play it, I will award DNF the following score: I think I'll give it a miss then! I played and completed the orginal DN3D years ago, but to be honest I preferred 'Redneck Rampage' which used the DN3D engine. "Fail to the king, baby!"
happymeal Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Hmmm I've nearly finished it and can't help but wonder if someone,, somewhere, for some reason, decided to build the game like this, in homage to the older ones, ie, blocky graphics, long load times (Pain. In. The. A$$!), etc? Don't get me wrong, I like playing it - but compared to Bulletstorm... Maybe they'll think about how badly it did this time, and actually build a better DN game?
HaleStorm Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 i have found a much greater game than Duke Nukem Forever also....boarderlands....its just awesome!
Rawns Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 I have Borderlands and played it for about an hour but then for some reason stopped. Thing is I enjoyed it a lot! Think I will have to revisit it again! And Bulletstorm?! That game was epic! The visuals were seriously sweet too!
HaleStorm Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 i havent played bulletstorm yet, but from the sounds of it i really need to....i love dead rising 2 aswell
happymeal Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Dead Rising 2 - there's something about putting a Raindeer mount on a players head and charging through a horde of Zombies that just does it for me...
Rawns Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 (edited) i havent played bulletstorm yet, but from the sounds of it i really need to....i love dead rising 2 aswell The demo is available on Steam. That's what got me hooked. Edited July 1, 2011 by Rawns Quoted wrong post! DIME-BAR!
MK-2 Posted July 1, 2011 Author Posted July 1, 2011 Dead Rising 2 - there's something about putting a Raindeer mount on a players head and charging through a horde of Zombies that just does it for me... if they gave you a free roam mode it would be such a better game. the whole time limit or health limit (once you complete it) thing just means its limited
happymeal Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 I just spent a day playing it my way instead of sticking to the Story time-line - way more fun playing with the Slicycle! ... You know what Kids? I'm closing the Tech Room up for a few hours...
RabbieBurns Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 As much as eveyone has been bashing the game and saying how crap it is, no-one is taking me up on my offer to take it off their hands (or did you all just download it)
Arthur Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Now available for Mac's. http://i.imgur.com/mKEiw.jpg
Rawns Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 If anyone cares, this is on Steam as their midweek madness offer for £7.49. £7.49 too much IMO.
Arthur Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 That was fast! £25 to £7.49 in four months. I think I'll wait until Christmas.
RabbieBurns Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 im still after a ps3 handmedown copy if anyone wants rid..
DrCheese Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 That price is good, let me just get my wallet... Oh wait they already took £29 off me a few months ago WHY DID I BUY THIS?!
localzuk Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 See, this is why I don't buy games near their release date! Wait 6 months and they're in the bargain bin.
CESIL Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 See, this is why I don't buy games near their release date! Wait 6 months and they're in the bargain bin. 6 months! In my world that makes you an early adopter...
CAM Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 They released Multiplayer DLC for it. Assuming anyone is playing it lol. They are all pop-references to other games like COD and TF2.
