Just been trying Windows update, Technet subscriber area and some other services only to be met with a variety of messages declaring that Microsoft Live services are down. Anyone else had this today? It's been going on since I got in the office at 08:30 this morning.

Bah! I think they've just come back online. Mind you, a Security Essentials update struggled a few mins ago.

Funny how these things always work once the school ICT Technician is involved ;) :D

I got dragged half way across the school this morning because Year 5 couldnt access a powerpoint on the shared resources - lots of people had tried with various machines with no luck.

I walked into the room, asked them to show me what was wrong, and lo and behold, they could access the document WITHOUT ME TOUCHING ANYTHING AT ALL :)

I get that suddenly working phenomenon all the time. I call it the technician effect, either the end user error corrects itself or the kit realises I am about to start pulling bits out and tinkering with it and behaves itself.
