Wow, didn't see that coming to mesh, my college used to use them, they did great deals for them

i can't say my experience with Mesh was good, the laptop which I bought, which was high spec back in 2005. Just kept breaking (Paint came off after hardly any use, kept blue screening even after rebuilds, touch pads buttons kept snapping, fan very noisy and always on) and kept being sent back, after the warranty expired I moved to a Dell laptop. Maybe I just bought a bad one?, because I did hear good things about them.

PC Peripherals are now taking orders under the Mesh Computers name, says so on PC Pro's news feed. I think it's a shame that it's happened though. All because of the flipping iPad and other tablets that are fashionable.

My first ever PC came from Mesh way back in 1991! I bragged so much about the 40mb hard drive....

My first laptop was a Mesh labelled Clevo model. Was a mess of a laptop, had design flaws from left to right, but Mesh were very good with their support.

 

But that's the thing isn't it now? Margins on computers are so low, unless you offer something unique to the market, you're not going to survive.

I think that's a tad harsh. The writing has been on the wall for companies like this for a long time. Tablets may have accelerated things a little but I think ultimately I think that they would have gone out of business one way or the other. Margins on computer equipment are razor thin. Unless they could do an Apple and sell their products for a premium or offer other kinds of high margin services on top of the computers their death was inevitable.
