Hi all,

A personal one here, I've recently had the displeasure of dropping my HTC Desire Z and having the screen replaced (Home insurance was £250 excess, Carphone Warehouse wanted £170, went direct to HTC and they did it for £90, plus I keep my warranty)

Can anyone recommend a company for smartphone insurance, as I'd rather pay a small monthly premium than incur massive costs and the lost of my phone for 2 weeks again :( I've looked at protectmybubble but wondered if anybody had other companies they use?

I'm looking for comprehensive cover over cost pm :)

Looking at that site, insuring the iPhone costs £5.99 a month plus an extra quid if you want loss cover. I've seen worse I suppose, insurance cover from the phone operators was a lot more.

Mine is covered free with my LloydsTSB account

So is mine, although when I sent off my SE C905 to be repaired it came back locked to Orange and I had to pay again to get it unlocked which was a pain.

I had the opposite, when my O2-locked Dell Streak was replaced I got an unlocked one in return :D Insured through my joint Barclays account with Mrs AT - it turns out that if you get the insurance on a joint account you can insure both of your phones for no extra cost!

I am just in the process of claiming for my Desire. I had used it to get to a school using Navigation, in the process of putting it back in it's case I dropped it. The screen is smashed and has small dents in the case. I have to pay £30 excess, Not bad for a 'free' insurance through the bank. The screen is over £100 before fitting.

£25.99 on ebay if you fit it yourself - make sure you get the right one though
