Now, i ordered myself a NAS from them as a distraction...paid like £8 for next day delivery and waited in all day....nothing. I noticed on my account status it was being packed or something like that, but it had stayed like that all day.

I emailed to ask what was going on and that i wanted a refund for my next day delivery and got told that it was stuck in security checks and that i wouldnt get my refund as it was explained in the T&C's.

Now, ok i am at fault for not reading them but i have never came across anything like that before!? Did everyone else know this was the case? Why then would people risk paying for next day delivery when theres a chance you wont get it!?

Has the bad experiences forum gone!?

Do you have a link to the T&C's?

There are some threads on the ebuyer forums about this and seems to indicate that the order status would say "security checks" or something if that was the hold up and anyway what are the security checks?

I've had issues with next day delivery when we had the snow. It didn't turn up and Ebuyer tried to say it wasn't their problem. While I acknowledged it wasn't their fault I made the point that I have still paid for a service I didn't receive. I ended up getting the difference paid between next day and 3 day delivery. It was only about £2 but it's the principle of the thing!

My experience with ebuyer...

Very poor delivery

Often faulty products

grim customer support

But with usually the cheapest prices around I accept this and keep ordering from them.

My record with ebuyer and why I will never ever buy from them again....

Order a Seagate 250gb SATA hard drive....

They send me a Seagate 250gb IDE hard drive.

Complain, raise a ticket, acknowledge mistake, collect incorrect item.

Wait a week, new drive arrives... another 250gb IDE hard drive.

Have not very happy discussion with customer service rep, they try to do another replacement... I give up and keep the drive, and leave very negative reviews.

Every now and then on different forums a thread appears saying how rubbish ebuyer are and not once have I ever seen a reply saying "well I think they're brilliant". Just about says it all really........

I've never had any issues with them tbh, I do usually go for the super saver delivery and find it arrives sooner than expected.

well I think they're brilliant (now you cant say you've never seen it! :p)

have ordered from them countless times (the last being my eeepad arriving 3 weeks ahead of pre-order date). have had to return a tv bought once which had a dead pixel. they collected and replaced, next tv had dead pixel (again not their fault) and they said they would happily collect and replace that too but it was getting a pain so left it.

have used their support tickets once or twice and got an answer that i wanted. to be honest i cant complain. i think you will find good and bad reviews of every site, im sure there are people who love using amazon and those that have had orders go missing, same for just about every online store i'd guess

I have used them for a few years now and never had any bad problems.

Had a couple of faulty items which they have replaced quickly, but nothing really serious.

I buy from them all the time and find their delivery good and prices pretty keen.

I've been using eBuyer for not far off 10 years now having spent a fair wedge with them and would recommend them every time, cheap prices and delivery pretty good as well :)

Apart from the issue I mentioned earlier, I've never had any problems having used them for about 5 years, spending thousands of pounds. I would always recommend them for their price and 99% of the time they deliver when they say they will (Even if they use S****y link).

If you look, you will find someone has fault with *every single company in the world*. Without exception. The rule is simple, people will be quick to vent their dissatisfaction but the majority will be quietly happy and mention nothing of the positive experience.

Otherwise you'd never buy anything from anyone because you'll only find bad information ;)

Exactly but I don't order from them, instead I normally use

Scan.co.uk: Computer Hardware

Aria PC - Computer Hardware, Components, Monitors.. at lowest prices

CCL Computers - PC, Laptop, PC Monitors and Computer Component Specialists - CCL Computers

Laptops, Computers, PC Components, MP3 players, Software, Digital Cameras and more - dabs.com

Misco.co.uk - Computer Hardware, Laptops, Notebooks, Desktops, TFTs, Printers, Servers, Wireless Networking, Software

Insight but cant remember there URL

The first 2 are the ones I use the most :)

As a side not scan, aria and memoryc were all excellent, extremely prompt delivery, no damage, no DOA, product as described and always worked as it said on the tin or in this case on there website(s)

Scan also do an insurance thing whilst you are checking out which does not cost that much extra in case of DOA or any issues and imo is well worth the extra change :)

My experience was similar to that except mine was for an Asus motherboard which was DOA and was a head ache trying to get them to accept the mistake and get a replacement and city link was another PITA on top of all of it so I have never bothered with ebuyer again :)

Never had a problem with Ebuyer, and after the bursar rollocked city link for trying to deliver at 6am and then again in the holidays we've not had a problem with them since!

This thread really shows the extremes that a large company can face with customer support.

The one problem I've had with Ebuyer was dealt with quickly and effectively, however some people have some justified issues with them.

With Shinobi's case, it's not their fault a component was DOA but not accepting the mistake is where the problems arise.

Personally I always buy from Ebuyer and as I've said before, have only ever had one problem (which was quickly sorted).

I agree and can understand but on the same token its only the sender / shipper who can sort anything out with the shipping company / courier with regards to claiming from the couriers insurance to get the said money back to replace the DOA / Damaged item(s).

Yes all it takes is one bad experience, but you get what you pay for and although I probably pay a bit more for using the likes of scan / aria or memoryc etc I know I will get great service and support and for me the service and definately the support are worth it :)

I ordered some pc parts from ebuyer yesterday evening. Ordered at 7:00 and the parts had been despatched by 8:00, and this was the free delivery option ( parcel force 48 hours)

This is my first time using them, so far it's been good. Lets hope all the correct parts arrive, and in working condition.

I think you have to accept that things sometimes don't work when you get them. I've had it happen a few times, and although the ease of replacement varies from time to time, it's generally not a problem to get something like that done.

My reason for disliking them is their absolute incompetence in dealing with that last order.... When someone sends an item back saying it's the wrong one, you don't then make the same mistake a second time. That is the only time I've ever had a company mess up an order, and the only time i've ever heard of a company messing up the same way the replacement was for.

I too generally use either Overclockers or Scan, though I have saver/sava/save/sav*to infinity/store based just 3 miles away, so I have an option to buy/and collect from them.

My ebuyer parts arrived on Friday

Ordered Wednesday 18th in the evening and arrived at 8:00 on Friday the 20th.

One problem. In my order it shows 1 of the parts at a different warehouse so it's going to be delivered separate. This part this hasn’t been dispatched and it’s now shown as out of stock on their website.

This annoys me a little because when I ordered it showed 3 or 4 in stock still. And now clearly it was out of stock before I ordered otherwise the part would have been dispatched by now

Still I’m fairly happy. As long as everything works fine!

I've used them before a few years back in 2006ish.

Had no issues with them for about two years then they messed up an order and it took me six months to get it sorted! Ordered two hard disks but they only sent one and the amount of trouble I had getting them to send me the other one was rediculous. At one point I heard nothing for three months and couldn't get throguh on the phone and wasn't getting any responses on my tickets. Turned out the previous person dealng with me had left and no one took over my case!

The main issue I have is customer service. Impossible to get through on the phone. Takes them ages to respond to tickets. When you finally do get through to someone you only get a pre written response nine times out of ten. It's a gamble to get things with them. The amount of money you save on your first nine purchases with them is probably no way near enough to warrant the stress and time spent trying to fix it if they **** up on the tenth.

From reading other sites looking for help when they screwed up my order it seems they grew too big too quickly and couldn't handle the increased business. Didn't have enough staff and never had items in stock even if they said they did on the website. They only one or two people in customer support and it really showed.

Hell... you know a site is crap when it has its own dedicated hate site...

Hell... you know a site is crap when it has its own dedicated hate site...

eBuyer Sucks - eBuyer Reviews and opinions from real customers

And that's the exact problem... You use them for years, 1 problem and you hate them. You don't post online everytime they make a good sale do you :p

And in response to your "insert company" sucks, Do you really think it's just ebuyer?

tesco-sucks.co.uk

paypalsucks.com

i-hate-walmart.com

Just to name a few. Every large company that deals with lots of people, has a percentage who dislike what they get... And millions others who love it.
