AngryITGuy Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Does anyone here use a mobile interactive whteboard and projector solution? If so what are you using and how have staff found it? We are looking at purchasing some portable units for our school and the only one I keep coming accross is this one from Promethean which from the size and weight doesn't look to be very portable at all.

Huegears Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 I would reccommend Ebeam everytime. Its small and portable and easy to use, the software is good. All you need then is a projector. I have more info if you need it as Luidia have forwarded it to me.
AngryITGuy Posted May 13, 2011 Author Report Posted May 13, 2011 Thanks for the recommendations, after a little more research I cam across this on the RM website Isis VerTable I know it a long shot but has anyone had any experience using one at all?
mb2k01 Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 I had one down on evalution / demonstration with a member of the Isis team for a large event I was putting on last year. You're basically looking at two products rolled in to one. The first is a table which converts to a whiteboard and the other is an Epson interactive projector. Both together give a product which is fairly useful in some circumstances, however you could arguably reproduce the product yourself as a project using a cheaper projector + e-Beam etc. It got good feedback from staff, and surprised me how much the pupils actually wanted to interact with it. Ask a student to do something on an Interactive Whiteboard and a lot will be put off, but they seemed to feel much more at ease with the table. We've ended up ordering two for two art classrooms - both to address the interface preference and the fact they needed a mobile solution as the rooms had no suitable wall for a traditional projection solution! 1
AngryITGuy Posted May 13, 2011 Author Report Posted May 13, 2011 Thanks for that, it certainly looks impressive. Is the Epson projector multi-touch?
mb2k01 Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 You need to use a digital pen to interact with the projected image (as with e-beam), and as far as I am aware it is only single touch. Could be wrong though, I haven't specifically looked if I'm honest! 1
mounters Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 No, it's the standard Epson short throw interactive projector EB-450wi.
cooperwood Posted March 4, 2015 Report Posted March 4, 2015 hi.. I am using interactive smart baord with mobile and projector. I am using it to share my notes with my friends and other students in class.
HTCPCP Posted March 6, 2015 Report Posted March 6, 2015 We trialed an iBoard Touch on a wheely base. Not light, but does have the advantage that it doesn't have a projector to catch on anything. We also trialed the Activeboard version both of which if you can afford them are really quite good. Just started to roll them out (wall mounted not on the wheely bases) for rooms now. However we may well have gone out and done the wheely base option if it wasn't for there being stairs everywhere...
