I've heard that Kate Middleton is not having problems with the marriage vow - "to love honour and obey" Its the answer "Till MI5 do us part" thats causing her the problems.....

The royal family are the most dysfunctional family in the world - yet people continue to slobber all over them and waste millions of money doing so. GET RID OF THEM.

Considering the Royal Family are now providing more finances into government coffers than they take out (ie. they now pay taxes, which is a larger amount than the civil list funds given to them), and the amount they bring in tourism, I think they're a good thing for the country.

What's wrong with a bit of pageantry once in a while?

We have the alternative Royal Family on TV today as ITV2 brings us The Only Way is Essex all day!

What a viewing choice!

Makes me so proud to come from Essex ;)

Would have been nice if the queen mum had paid her death duty tax instead of it being written off by John Major + all her HUGE dept was also written off. That would have put some more money back into the country - still one rule for them and one rule for us - no change there. This country would be far better off in the long run without them. There are far too many of them too.

I'm at work, no telly, no traffic this morning.

A couple of toffs can get married every Friday if I can get in in 15 mins!

I'm 'working from home' today - all part of my new job. Best thing I've done in 7 years was to get out of education !!

Too many of them, I'll agree - but I don't want to see the alternative which is a president (NOT like the USA). Presidents are supposed to be non-political but somehow they never are.

The UK doesnt have a lot going for it internationally anymore but we do still have a queen who stands for the country itself -not the politics etc.

Having said that - I dont believe that they are in the least bit 'better' than us and I would never curtsey or bow. Aristocracy is a joke as many of them come from illegitimate liaisons or 'robber barons' anyway

My dad met all the royals in the course of his job - he was in the COI - and he always said that most of them seemed OK. His farourite was Princess Anne as she was always very knowledgeable about the things she was doing and she never made a fuss. He couldnt bear Princess Margaret and once had the strange honour of having lied to Prince Phillip!

I hope the couple have a lovely day on Friday but I've had it up to here with the stupid broadcasters. The BBC in particular. You can't watch the news without some fawning overpaid imbecile wibbling on about it all; dribbling slavishly over some such nonsense like an interview with someone just because they ate a dougnut one of the royal corgis pi$$ed on at a garden party in the 1980's.

Totally agree, I'm hiding at my work place (even though it is a bank holiday) to get some stuff done.

I like the royal family, would you rather have Queen Elizabeth as our figurehead or some smarmy git in a suit looking for votes? No country will touch us for ceremony such as trooping the colour and the wedding today and that brings in the tourists and makes us distinct from the EU. If you want to ditch the royal family, emigrate to the continent and enjoy your litre beers and euros. ;)

I like the royal family, but those litre beers do sound appealing...

Hah, I must be one of the few people in this country who hasn't seen a single photograph, newspaper article, or TV news item about the wedding. Did I miss anything? Probably not.

Nothing at all I am sure. However it is the topic of conversation in the office at the moment: Specifically: Where are they going on honeymoon?
