[sims] 2 fms databases on 1 server

I have a project coming up with effectively 2 schools in one building, does anyone know if it is possible to install 2 fms (and sims) databases on 1 server, and if this is supported?

 

I assume I'll just install 2 different named instances of SQL server, but not sure if this is supported by Capita? Has anyone done this before?

@steveg: It looks like I might be running two SIMS DBs on one server (two instances, but no FMS). The only question mark I have at the moment is SOLUS3. I've not looked into it fully yet, though.

We've got 2 databases, academyFMS and oldschoolFMS.

 

Database select tool doesn't always work, but you can setup 2 shortcuts, 1 to each database.

Our LEA hosts SIMS (and every other school in the county) for us so I can only imagine they host multiple databases on the same server.

It does work and somewhere in another thread NorthernSands has posted a modified connect.ini to allow choice of which sims to connect to.

The Connect.ini I posted is for the SIMS DB. For FMS, @Theblacksheep is correct; the best way I've found with FMS is to use FDS and setup two or more shortcuts as required.
