eddyc Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 We have around 32 of the HP T5145 Thin Clients available for £25 each (or near offer!) Let me know if your willing to take them off our hands! We are located at Churchill (near Bristol) These are just over a years old and cost around £160 each when originally bought. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DocumentIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&contentType=SupportManual&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=3719239
jamesfed Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Do they come with a web browser? I know most HP thin clients come with iceweasel but I can't seem to find any mention of it in the specs. Just as a side note I would only be after the one to power our server room monitor display so do ignore me if you only want to sell the whole lot in one go.
SYNACK Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 This link may be a little more informative with regard to hardware: http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13146_div/13146_div.PDF
FN-GM Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Can i ask why you are getting rid of these please? Why are you getting rid of these so soon? Thanks
plexer Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 If they do have a locally addressable web browser I would also be interested in a couple. Ben
jcollings Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 If we can come up with a way of getting them to Kendal I would probably take the lot
m25man Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Can i ask why you are getting rid of these please? Why are you getting rid of these so soon? Thanks Me too, why the mass cull of thin clients... whats your story....
eddyc Posted April 28, 2011 Author Report Posted April 28, 2011 @jamesfed: Yes these do have a web browser built in. There is no issue with them as such, we have removed them from a languages room and installed full fat desktops as often ICT classes were using the room and the terminal server was not upto running the likes of flash, etc and this was not great solution. With the free distro of rdesktop included in the HP software, there is a bug in that the cursor is shown as black (only when connecting to a 2008 R2 TERMINAL SERVER - NOT 2008, OR 2003 THOUGH), so we found using a coloured background to be a workaround. We still have over 100 on site and in use, but have no plans to remove these (nor have a need to keep 40 spares)!
jamesfed Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 @jamesfed: Yes these do have a web browser built in. In that case I'd be happy to take one off your hands - would you be able to post one to oxfordshire?
eddyc Posted April 28, 2011 Author Report Posted April 28, 2011 Yes that will not be a problem - if you PM me, we can arrange payment/invoice and shipping. Thanks, Ed.
eddyc Posted May 3, 2011 Author Report Posted May 3, 2011 2 sold and shipped so far - still got 31 left if anyone else is interested - will do a deal for the lot!
plexer Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 I'll sort out a school order for the ones we talked about tomorrow. Ben
jcollings Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 I will take the last 31 off you if possible. I'll PM you.
