Ricoh Printers and Locked Profiles

Ok people, I really need some help here.

 

One of my schools has had a Ricoh MFD installed and networked. They want to set up locked prints for all Staff. "What's the problem?" I hear you ask, well Teaching staff and TA's have Locked Profiles. this is causing the settings to be lost when they log off. Management are fine as they don't have locked profiles.

 

Through some wizardry and registry files I have found a way to create each user's settings when they log on. They provide their printercode and name and the printer is setup for them (this happens at EVERY logon). It's not pretty but it does the job. the problem is, this only adds the credentials to printer. It doesn't force it to Locked Print as I thought it would. I have asked for a Ricoh Engineer to call me to see if there is anywhere that I can force this setting.

 

On top of this I am not allowed to setup a Print Server, I am not allowed to change the profiles to unlocked and I am only at the school for one morning a week.

 

Can anyone help me at all??

Realistically you'd have to create a mandatory profile per user. I've done this for pupils (who use a single mandatory profile) and staff just followed some instructions to set up their own user/password details.

The staff at the school will forget that they have to do this, that is why i have been looking at doing it this way. I wonder if i could make the driver load a previously saved setting at login?

I'm pretty sure though on the driver or photocopier you can make this requirement mandatory, so staff can print, but the job just gets deleted. They'll soon catch on very quickly and although people hate change, in the longterm you'll save a lot of money on ink and paper.

We've recently got a few copiers in, and I've edited the drivers using the driver editor. You can then set what options they can or can't do and make it pop up when required asking for the locked print details.
