I managed to powerwash my U & S from my focus . Glued the U back together so now I need to stick it back to the car. Has anyone done this before and can recommend some good double sided foam pads to use as I dont want to use flimsey sellotape ones that will come off the next time it rains.

someone little delight from work stole a letter of the badge on my car. I found a replacement on eBay for less than £10 but not applied it yet.

Did this with the MR2, and a previous Audi - just used sticky trim tape from Halfords. You cut it to length, and can cut it to shape so it doesn't show behind the letters. Made by 3M I think - still on there 2 years later after rain and shine.

Just De-Badge it :p (well just the letters, be foolish to take of the logo's :) )

LOL

Did this to my Astra..heh. 1.6? nah. Merely a Vauxhall Astra now. Ditto the "Club" badges, and the "Automatic". Tempted to change the Griffin for either the Holden Lion, or the Opel "strike".

Seems to be a bit of confusion in here now. I have not lost the badge, two letters came off which I still have I just want to stick the letters back on. Going to halfords later to try the double sided adhesive first and see how that goes.

i did this on a fiesta once - went to ford to buy the whole set

the lad stuck it on for me; the label already has the sticky side on already. he used some cleaner to clean the area and put back the missing letters

i know you dont need to whole label bit either way use some cleaner before you apply any letters back to the car

Only if they have nothing else to do. I had "Eat Lead *expletive*" on the boot of one of my past cars (a leaded machine in an era of "that's BAD"..and never got pulled. But then I used to get pulled at random for other things.."your lights are tinted".."yes, I know. I did it.". "well, that's illegal". "No, it's not. Look, they still work.".

"oh..".

Most plod don't care, some are doughnut munching, tiny minded morons. Like the one who pulled me approaching a 30 zone from a 40 zone in sub zero conditions, because I was doing 35 in the 40, and must therefore be upto something. I did suggest McDonalds may have been shut, vis a vis his spare time to pillock about. He didn't like that much.

Memories of the old days of lack of quality control. Brand new Triumph 2000, the name TRIUMPH spelled out in separate chrome letters fitted to the bonnet - but in the order TRIUMHP.....

Would that be worth extra like a misprinted coin or stamp :)

My daughter's friend, Kat, has a Ford Ka - she went out and bought a letter T and stuck it on - looks great!

I keep thinking of doing this to a friend's VW Bora....

"How's the drive quality?"

"It's Nice"
