Little-Miss Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 I randomly asked this on Facebook and regretted it!!! SO! As with everything these days i am spoilt for choice! Which brand would you recommend from the options above for home use. The only things other then storage i am interested in is it acting as an iTunes server and Xbox streaming too. If you have particular experience with a model let me know. Kthx

difinity Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 There was a favourable review of a Synology NAS on The Register the other day Synology DS411slim Nas box ? reghardware I have a couple of customers with the Zyxel 210 NAS they cost about £50 plus the price of the drive, does iTunes and supports DNLA NSA210 | ZyXEL Not had any problems with them so far and were easy to set up.

Butters Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I'm going to recommend the NetGear ReadyNas Duo. Been a brilliant investment for me has an easy interface to work with. Bonus for me was that you could put a newsgroups client on it so my box is happily churning out my downloads whilst I'm at work.

I stream full HD stuff from the NAS upstairs to a PS3 downstairs over homeplugs and have never experienced problems. Also streamed multiple files to different sources and it's not struggled. One of my better home entertainment investments although the fan is a little loud at times. 1
