It's an absolutely diabolical attempt at a Duke game. Bulletstorm is far better and funnier.

 

Perhaps it's the "it was funny when we were 14 years old" that's doing it but not being able to carry more than 2 guns, the vastly exaggerated toilet humour and unduke like duke is just daft. It's a crap game

 

I got bored within 2 minutes of the demo yet still plodded on for another half an hour or so. Promptly cancelled my steam pre-order afterwards, plenty more I can spend 30 quid on

What company would be stupid enough to give the demo only to the pre-orders i.e. as you say and many others have cancelled now!

Where is the download for the demo ??

 

Do they have a demo for the mac version or is it PC Only ??

DNF uses DirectX, so Windows only. I think I'll wait until Valve's Christmas sale and pick it up for ~£5.00.

Save 10% on Duke Nukem Forever on Steam

 

Minimum spec is the Nvidia 8800 GTS - my mac pro has the 8800 GT

 

Not sure if there is much difference, money permitting in a year or so I would like to get the ATI 5870

Demo isn't fully public (unless you look hard enough, seems there's a fair few sources) - it was released early to "The First Access Club". If any of you bought Borderlands on Steam, there will be details with that somewhere.

If the demo was good, I'd have jumped on it straight away and looked forward to release on the 9th. However though, it's terrible

Ouch. Perhaps it should have stayed Vaporware.

 

Sadly enough I've been playing the original with Atomic Pack and high-res textures and it just wasn't the same.

 

Perhaps there was *something* about it when you were 15 and the internet was not as broad as it is now.

have to admit - i was not a fan of the first lot of Duke games But having waiting so long for this one i want to give it a whirl.

I grew up on the dukes so for me its more of a nostalgic thing than anything else.
