I've downloaded a little app called Dia which help you make diagrams with which I am to do the room layout for the conf in June. However, when I open the app it shoots off (the animation that is) to the left hand side of the screen as if it was opening on a screen that is not present. I can see it running on the task bar and it shows the app OK, but I simply cannot get it on my main display. Any help?

Can you right-click on the task bar item, choose "move" and move the window back on to your screen via the keyboard arrow keys?
tarquel Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I'm thinking could you use some 3rd party app out there to "grab" the window and force it to be where you are wanting?

cromertech Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Try the windows key and left or right arrow few times and see if it comes into view then (this just does the side by side snap view)

Try right clicking on taskbar (not icon) and cascading, or does that still not show it? *Edit - Other option ofcourse would be to delete the config/registry file linked with the position. SYNACK Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 (edited) Go into the moniter resolution settings and disable all other screens while you have the app open, this should cause the system to re-evaluate the viewable area and move it back onto the single screen. This does assume there are not dodgey multiscreen plugins/apps that get in the way of this. Edited March 25, 2011 by SYNACK

A: Because the HOME environment variable is not set. Add a line like this to your autoexec.bat file: set HOME=c:\home then restart your computer and make sure c:\home exists. The path should not contain any spaces and is case-sensitive (c:\Home is not the same as c:\home). As of Dia 0.88.1, this problem should no longer happen. Dia FAQ Also I would close down Dia, double check your display settings both through either the relevant setup / config util ie that ATI or Nvidia / Intel or whoever use and also through the normal display settings and as a temp thing set the display settings to a default resolution / refresh rate etc ie 1024 * 768 @ 60 hz Reboot obviously after adding / changing the above environment variable /autoexec.bat file Also what OS are you running ?? Windows 7 ??
