Sibelius 4

We have a network license for 30 machines at our site, which if possible I want to avoid installing manually.

 

Currently I've tried using WinInstallLE to create a package for the full install and have allocated it using GPO. However when the students try to use it, first of all it complains that quicktime is out of date, (even if I manually update quicktime to the latest version) and then shortly after Sibelius bombs out asking to send an error report.

 

This happens as both administrator and standard user.

 

Anyone else overcome this problem, or have a better method for installing the software?

 

One day things will just come as standard with a WORKING msi!

Are you using the Network Licence Server version of Sibelius? If not you are best with that. As for install, can you not just re-image your 30 machines, thats all I did with mine, stick the client on the basic image and then just image away, it took about 30 minutes to put it on all the music computers and it is part of setup to know which server it needs and off it goes.

Have to agree with john, that's exactly what we've done.

Yes we are using the network license version. However we resolved the problem yesterday.

 

Another package that was installed in the same room via GPO was messing with the quicktime installation on the machines. Removing this package and reallocating my Sibelius 4 package (built from a clean station using WinInstallLE with all the licensing details put into the package) solved the issue.

We included it on our image for the music dept as well.
