A member of staff has a well and truly borked HDD from her PC at home and it contains all her data.

We've tried everything here and it's a job for a specialist data recovery company by the looks of it.

Who do you use and can recommend?

She knows it's going to cost an arm and a leg.

Have you tried the freezer trick? (i.e put the hdd in a zip lock bag in a freezer for a couple of hours). Sounds mad but I have seen it work.

This has gone beyond that point and it's a take it apart job to get at the platters.

Just been looking at their website - thanks for the recommendation!

Maybe Google their name first and see the complaints made against them? I has my hard drive "lost" just like the previous poster and now I wish I read the scam reports.
