mdrabble Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I am gutted as this is the 3rd year in a row I registered and not been able to go
Gonk Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Well... i won a £15 ipod gift card Congratulations!
timbo343 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 What stand? It was turning point. They gave you a bag and said if you are seen wearing it, you win a prize... by chance i was at the edugeek stand and i won it...
timbo343 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 i also would recommend the i-desk stand and have a go at the f1 game. I got a 4th fastest time of 5.33.16 over 5 laps. The fastest was 5.13.75.
AWicher Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 i'm going on my own so will have time to play games...
gshaw Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Couple of mugs. Edugeek cap \ poster and a 4GB USB stick from Microsoft with some Hyper-V info on it for me. Seemed to be a lack of free T-Shirts this year though, I wanted another SMART one for when we run training sessions lol. Edugeek Pizza kept me going and free tea \ coffee in the Network Managers' lounge provided refreshment
Luke_T Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 A pink stress pig a balsa aeroplane and an adobe mug I want to know where I can get the pig & aeroplane or is it pig in aeroplane?
timbo343 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 The pig is from A2Z. one is sat on my desk and a green frog from NEC. Im not too sure about the aerplane though.
difinity Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 The aeroplane was from WYSE the thin client people. 1
martman2002uk Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 If you need a nice big bag, go to the Frog stand If you need a bag for your swag go to the Lenovo stand, a nice white canvas ThinkVision bag is the "swag carrier bag o choice"
Luke_T Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Tee hee my annotated BETT map is more of a freebie treasure hunt now! There's a few work things thrown in for good measure but they're pretty fun as well to be honest: Wireless, Tablets, Projectors, SMARTboards, ClipBank, Clickview, to name but a few.
Stuart_C Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Easily the best freebe for me was the edugeek pizza! I was restrained though and resisted the urge to eat a whole one Got quite a few diary's, draw string bags and the usual baulk load of pens. I got an edugeek mug for my techie and I also snaffled a HP toy bear for my daughter (round he back of the HP stand)
Stuart_C Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Other freebies may include "My Glove" it's the right, its grey and has fake leather on the fingertips and palm. If found please return. On a more serious note perhaps next year should be the year of the EDUGEEK burger. Get a small BBQ, grill burgers, sell them cheap, make a killing. You could even get a brand and burn the edugeek logo into the bun.
Hightower Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Can't whack the bag of goodies EduGeek give you! I was treated like royalty when I turned up at the stand. Some lady (not sure who, sorry) whipped by badge straight off, Dos_Box introduced me to everyone, a goody bag was thrust upon me, and my badge was returned to me with a shiny new EduGeek lanyard. I didn't know where to look, or what to say it was so overwhelming. Then Dos_Box chucked an RM slate my way to have a play, and I started feeling guilty because when my badge was returned I bowed my head for the lady to put on rather than just taking it from her - I didn't mean to be rude or cheeky, I was just so overwhelmed and partly lost functionality of some of my limbs. If the lady wants to tell me who she was, I'll happily offer dinner as way of apology Anyhow, back to the goodies. I only went to the big stalls as I didn't have long so wanted to get the vital 'information'. After sitting with a guy from RM for 30 minutes I asked for goodies and all he gave me was a 6 piece lego to make a duck out of! Bad craic RM, bad craic! I also sat through a KACE demo at Dell (because it looks a good system, not just for the sake of it), and surprisingly got a 1gb USB stick from them at the end - that is definately my best catch of the day.
andy_whitlock Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 I failed on the freebie front, but as it was my first visit to BETT with only a single day to attack things... I spoke to lots of companies most I'll be getting quotes from and possibly looking to buy from (including Smoothwall)!
vikpaw Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 rAPPid revise a GCSE science revision app, free for the next two weeks on the appstore. i don't know what the stand is as i spoke to the developer at the exhibitors party last night, but i tried it out and its very good. apparently there may be a small bug or two but if you download now while it's free you can get free updates for life. 1
vikpaw Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 (edited) BSF?? NOT. Anyone want some free wallpaper for the desktop?? Edited January 14, 2011 by vikpaw 1
GREED Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 I was made up that I got the last poster of the day on EG stand. Great to speak to Chris briefly, hoped you liked the ePad keyboard case! And my EduGeek lanyard Microsoft seemed stingy on the freebie front though, or did I miss the copies of Office 2010 they were giving away???
ezzauk Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 I got myself a EG Poster, Adobe mug, Juniper 2gb usb key, overland t-shirt, Clearswift mug, AEG ups mug, AEG mousemat.
GREED Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 I failed to take the advice about not taking a bag (mainly so I could bring the ePad to show Dos_Box & team) so I couldn't carry no more!
LiamH Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 I've also got a SIMS Ice Scraper! Is that not just the help desk support number card? as bout as much use:getmecoat:
K.C.Leblanc Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 DosBox spied my dated yellow Edugeek lanyard and gave me a nice new one, and a refreshing bottle of water. Other then that I didn't get much, I wanted to avoid the tonne of brochures that come with the freebys. ECM/HP and Lenovo gave me some reusable shopping bags.
Hightower Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 and a refreshing bottle of water. Ah yes, I recall arriving at BETT after a long tube journey from Earls Court to Olympia, packed in like hens we were. I was hot and dehydrated from the journey, but I was determined to find the EduGeek stand. I made the long walk to row G. I was getting close, but I was also growing weary. Was that the famous EduGeek crew I could see on the horizon? Or was it a mirage? I prayed to the EduGods and continued on, hoping that my mind wasn't playing tricks with me. After many moons had been and gone, I eventually drew close on the stand, and there in all His glory was Dos_Box, the EduGod, with his hand outstretched holding a bottle of water. I was saved, and reborn as an EduGeek, and I shall forever spread the good word of the holy book, EduBible (available for download on your kindle now!). 1
