BatchFile Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 My new office chair has finally arrived. Coccyx and spine are very happy That is all.
Willott Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I remember when my new chair arrived... work stopped for the rest of the day while I adjusted all the settings on it, the re adjusted trying to find the nicest most comfortable position (then I played with the up, down, back and front things for a while, then had to spend more time readjusting!)
Disaster Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 hope it's a good'un. We thought we'd try and save cash and get £35 office chairs, my arse actually goes through the padding to the hard plastic and I'm not that heavy. Rubbish. gonna spend loads on my next one!
Butters Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I'm having mad sciatica problems at the moment and I reckon it's due to the crud office chairs we've had since we moved office. Any recommendations? I've changed chair recently and it's not improving at all.
Willott Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 gonna spend loads on my next one! Try and get it our of H&S budget (I think that's where mine came from) - afterall, without suitable seating you may end up with a back/knee/hip injury - better for H&S to spend money now rather than have to pay sick pay and get a temp in!
teejay Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Get one that is classed as a 24 hour operator/manager chair, they are designed for extended periods of use and can cope with those of us of a *cough* larger *cough* build. If you have back problems, you may need an orthopeadic 24 hour chair, but they are very expensive for anything worth getting so you may have to have a full H&S assessment and doctors not etc to get one.
Butters Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I've got a sports massage booked for wednesday to see if that improves things and then if not, likely jaunt to the docs. Then to convince my boss I'm worthy of a good chair.....
El_Nombre Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Lol you said 'coccyx'. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/7a/Beavis_and_Butt-head.jpg
