Does not state if it will play .MKVs........ will have to find out as if so I may bite the bullet and finally get one.

I don't think anything made by Sony does. The BDPS370 only supports DivX HD rather than DivX Plus HD (H.264 MKVs with AAC/MP3/AC3 audio). :(

Why not make a Media Centre PC with a blu-ray drive, HDD of choice and as long as all components are HDCP compliant (Screen, graphics card etc.) it should be good to go for blu ray, mkv etc

That's what I did...

Dell U2711 + Samsung SH-B123L/RSBP + ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre 5 + AnyDVD HD = awesome. :D

I managed to get the 27" LCD for £523.66 inc. VAT using various discount codes which I thought was quite a good price and definitely my best purchase this year. If I was going to buy a standalone Blu-Ray player though I would probably go for one of the Dune players. They literally do play everything. :)

assuming its the same as the software in my sony tv im 90% cerian no. Also be aware it seems to have a very small buffer on iplayer i found it very stop start compared to a pc but your mileage may vary

Pretty sure power dvd will play back blu ray and you can use any other player of your choice to playback other formats :D

because hdcp can be a pain. set mine up all hdmi so pc-amp-tv and if you turn off amp still displays but then media centre just complains dvd app in use and keeps resizing desktop. plugged in pc-tv-amp (still all hdmi) its fine but to get bluerays working again was a pain had to uninstall logmein update power dvd and video drivers or all i got was sound. all this for an innefectual copy protection method all it does is hack of people who buy it legit if id downloaded the film wouldnt of happened

It's either the Nexus One or the meatball mariana from Subway.

It's not the Nexus one, that's for sure, that only leaves the meatball marinara from Subway and I'd have to agree with you as it is delicious !!!

Has to be a toss-up betwixt the Nexus One, and the Logitech Harmony One remote....I have no idea how I functioned without either of these!

I think I'm almost mac-o-fied. Added an iPhone 4 after ditching the blackberry. And only bought an iPad 2 weeks ago. Still not a mac fanboy though :D.

Let's go for the iPad this year. Worth every penny.
