gshaw Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Will have to see if Mass Effect is on there... gonna end up playing it back to front but still worth it
GREED Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 I want to get Far Cry but there is apparantly issues on Windows 7 64bit
3s-gtech Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 BC2 for £6.79?! I love Steam. Will probably buy Deus Ex again, just for having it run -CD.
jedmondson Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 I just brought fear on steam for that reason
3s-gtech Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 I took advantage of the last sale, and bought Mirror's Edge, Stalker SoC, Outrun 2006 for about £10 all in. PC retail just doesn't really compete any more, even with no second-hand. I'm not even that bothered about game boxes etc any more.
nikaso Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 The flipside of Steam is some outrageous prices for digital downloads, I was wanting to buy R.U.S.E. but Steam wanted £30 for it, a quick check on Amazon and its under £14, what's that about?

Whereas Amazon have some control over the prices they charge for games, Steam actually has no control over regional pricing. The publishers agree to the sales but as you can see on the holiday sale, very few Activision games are reduced. (COD:MW being the exception but it's been reduced to the price it should be considering the age of the game). That's not Steam's fault, publishers control the pricing. That being said, keep an eye on daily deals. Just Cause 2 is only £5 today, there is a good chance RUSE will appear at some point during the holiday period.
SneakyBeaky Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 I want to get Far Cry but there is apparantly issues on Windows 7 64bit Couldn't see Far Cry on offer, only Far Cry 2. I am running Far Cry 2 here on Windows 7 64bit with no problems at all. I don't know if the Steam download is different in any way.
Arthur Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Just bought Just Cause 2, but I think I may wait to see if Far Cry 2: Fortune's Edition gets any cheaper. Assassin’s Creed II should be a lot cheaper considering the crazy DRM it has. The most I would pay for this game is 10p.

It's well worth £7.49, I put so much time into that game when it came out.

nikaso Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Welcome to Steam Get on there and spend some money. Battlefield Bad Company 2 is only £6.79 today! Massive sale on until 2nd January, look out for daily deals too. Rawns Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Just purchased killing floor (yesterday) for 4 quid! Think I'll be getting value for money from that bad boy.
3s-gtech Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 There were some ridiculous bargains to be had - I didn't buy any this year as upgrading my PC first, and money is tight. Got a few to play through first too. Highlights I saw were: GTA IV Complete for £6.50 B:BC2 for £6.50 Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath for £7 Just Cause 2 for £5 HAWX 2 for £15 plus numerous others...
