Installed Spiceworks last week. Hardly had to do anything, it just scanned the network and categorised everything. It will even attempt to look up the warranty at the manufacturers website.

Currently works with HP and Dell. There is a poll in the SW community to prioritise adding other manufacturers

I love this feature, works great for us now our estate of HP kit is growing nicely It now also has limited understanding of Citrix XenServer so knows a few things more about my Virtual Servers.

 

We use Spiceworks for nearly all things, but still do have spreadsheets as I've not had the time to enter everything from spreadsheets like the digital cameras etc into Spiceworks yet.
