Just discovered this as I wanted to look at the VHD of Exchange 2007.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=6E6501F6-481A-4117-BC22-C745400BCDA0&displaylang=en

Its rather nice and free. Apologies if this is old news.

I was using Virtual PC and all those images transfer across perfectly.

Good ol Microsoft

"Note that Virtual Server 2005 R2 requires that guest operating systems be 32-bit."

Exchange 2007 is 64bit only.

Even my ESX servers can't run 64 bit guests, but thats because I have the older single core EMT64 Xeons, if I had the dual cores then I would be fine for 64bit guests.

Ah, its a preview :) You aren't going to virtualise 2007 :p

The non release versions also had 32bit. I know that there is limited support for 2007 on 32bit, but features are disabled, and its not optimised at all.

You beat me to it. D

I think upgrading the Exchange 2007 is going to need a bit of planning (and a rebuild). I can't wait.

When you read the info on upgrading etc they say near enough what you have just said, it needs carefull planning, migration and in all cases a complete new install as the previous exchanges were 32bit only so you cannot just wack the disk in and upgrade this time.
