teejay Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 CAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE Please go buy it, supporting some brilliant charities and hopefully it'll keep chavfactor off no 1 I also want to see if Radio 1's systems can cope with playing it as most radio stations have an automatic system kick in to play music after about 30 seconds of silence 1
LiamH Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 I will be buying this, surfing bird AND hopefully the original Biffy Clyro "many of horror" which is being covered by the xfactor winner, not sure if that's released yet thou Hate xfactor...
tech_guy Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 We've got to keep both crapfactor and that whingeing little brat Willow off the no.1 spot so buy it now!
Hightower Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 That's the best song I've ever heard! Next time my neighbours are playing their crappy decks crap I'm gonna stick 4'33" on as loud as it will go! That'll show them! 2

MK-2 Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Surfin' Bird for #1. Just to see if Family Guy pick up on it being played so much over here. Peter Griffin for Xmas #1
tech_guy Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Can somebody pleeeeeeese produce a song called 'Poking Camilla' - it would make my xmas.
Hightower Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Its better with talent! Edit : My bit done Can't wait to see Biffy when they support the Foo's next year. Gonna be awesome!
tmcd35 Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Its better with talent! Edit : My bit done Alas, I'm not a Biffy fan. Saw them life once, I think they were supporting someone like R.E.M., Nickleback or Bon Jovi (I forget which). Can't say it's an experience I want to relive. Although, credit where credit is due they do the best version of Rihanna's Umberlla
Domino Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Meh, there's too many of these campaigns this year to have the same impact as the RATM one last year IMHO I think we'll get stuck with something awful :-( BTW - saw my first X-Factor (the final), that Matt bloke was an atrocious singer...
Domino Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Although, credit where credit is due they do the best version of Rihanna's Umberlla Their older stuff was far better - as is always the case. However, talking of covers...
tmcd35 Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Their older stuff was far better - as is always the case. However, talking of covers... As a Fleetwood Mac fan (well I like their more famous songs - like this one) I refuse to click that link because I know it will make me cry!
GREED Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Surfin' Bird for #1. Just to see if Family Guy pick up on it being played so much over here. Peter Griffin for Xmas #1 Possibly the greatest episode of FG ever I might add. Surfin' Bird for #1!
Hightower Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 that Matt bloke was an atrocious singer... Heh, but we've all heard your bands music so I wouldn't go shouting it mate
Domino Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Heh, but we've all heard your bands music so I wouldn't go shouting it mate :-O http://thechive.files.wordpress.com/2010/12/lol-captions-13.jpg?w=500&h=303 1
Fatmas Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 So this XFactor song is a crap cover of a song that is from Biffy Clyro's weakest album? No thanks. I'll stick to the likes of 57 and Glitter & Trauma.
MK-2 Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 surfin bird is up to #3 in the download charts at the moment. COME OOOONNNN
CAM Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 If they decided to punt an actual song, then I'd happily support the Cage Against The Machine campaign. As it stands, selling a track that is nothing but silence and idle noise to people and riding on the back of a charity to do it is a new low for the music industry. Give me a charity bucket, there, done.

And shows peoples absolute displeasure at being punted another soulless pop puppet by showing they'd rather have silence?
aerospacemango Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 The good thing about being in my 40's is that I don't have to pay any attention to all of this rubbish, unless I really want to! X-Factor? Load of garbage! The only thing that bothers me is the amount of airplay that these idiots receive after they've been on the show. Yet another program designed for the lowest common denominator.....which will make millions for Simon Cowall, as people vote for their "favourites" just to see the "competition" changed so that their "vote" doesn't actually count! Anyway....I much prefer Strictly.......LOL!!!
