Anyone else applied to get a chrome os netbook

Google is expected to send out 60,000 of its Chrome OS powered netbooks to members of its pilot program, an initiative that was unveiled at Google’s Chrome event yesterday.

 

It takes about 5 mins to fill out the form and then sit back and wait for the post to arrive.

I am sure I won't get one but maybe if you are more inventive with your "in not more than 140 characters tell us why you would be a good tester"

I assume its open source? It will be on the Pirate Bay in no time at all. So i assume there wont be a problem from getting it from there...

I thought it was freely available to play in a VM? I haven't got it yet but I think I read it on here - or has it changed massively since then?

What "netbook" does come with an optical drive? also as it's an os that only gives access to cloud services lack of usb ports isn't really a problem.

A good point. Although I was referring to the fact that this can really only be used for Chrome, as you have better stated, not as a freebie to use for other purposes later on (ie Windows)

Comes we built in 3G as well as Wi-Fi which is very useful for "on the go" - Do Google pay for the 3G cost though?

I think roughly around 250/300 web pages a month assuming they are of standard content around 400k per page? I guess that more media intensive pages could hit the 2mb mark...
