[sims] SIMS.net Invalid/user name password?

Ok I've built a new windows 2008 vm for SIMS.net and installed SQL 2008 express (from SiMS setups) and intalled SIMS.net etc.

 

i've detached the DB from the old server and attached to new server, i've also tried backing up the old server and restoring it. Both via dbattach.

 

no sims users can login they get invalid username and password.

 

i've run sims.db_p_reset_sysman_password and reset the sysman password, then reset my password and logged in and I can get in, obviously I can't reset everyones password that would be a bit mad, this server is vlan'd away from the real sims server so I've got time to work on it.

 

any ideas on getting the logins to work?

 

the reason for this is the old server is 2003 and my new policy is server should be 2008.

exec sims.db_p_install

exec sims.db_p_grant

 

may well have fixed it.

can you login to sims on the server?

 

was it a fresh install of sql?

For future ref; i have had this problem with FMS and KB78058 fixed it.
