BKGarry Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Hello, We have recently moved into an entire new building, and with every new Promethean Board we have been given a "Teacher Remote". These are very strange, as they are projector remotes but they do not seem to be working. Does anyone know anything about these remote controls, and how they should work? Thank you
plexer Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 The hitachi short throw projectors which I would presume have been fitted come with 2 remotes a full function one and a teacher one. The teacher on allows basic operation but doesn't let them get into the menus. If they don't work do they have batteries? Ben
BKGarry Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 They are the Short Throw Projector and yes the remote controls do have fully functioning batteries
laserblazer Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Ours work ok but just check to see if the projector menu has a setting for multiple controls.
plexer Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 The projectors come with the 2 controls as standard for the orange edu version, I have never seen one that needed a menu setting. Both remotes operate at the same frequency and transmit the same codes it's just that the teacher one doesn't have all the functions of the other one. Ben
TRobinson Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Hi, Not sure that this is a Promethean Product as such - it might be something that you need to speak to your reseller about. Perhaps you can attach an image of the remote control in the hope that we can advise further?
plexer Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 TR01 Teacher Remote Control Hitachi Original - teacher remote. Hitachi CP-A100 Projector - Physical Tour - full remote Ben
plexer Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 It's not a promethean product at all it comes with the projector. Ben
plexer Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 As this is not actually relating to a promethean product but it is in fact to do with the projector I've been asked to move the thread. Ben
Ulkary Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 This is a strange issue, are you able to control the projector with the physical buttons? Could the IR sensor be blocked somehow?
BKGarry Posted January 7, 2011 Author Posted January 7, 2011 sorry for the delay in response. we can use the full promethean remotes, but not the teacher remotes, also there are no buttons on the projectors
DarrenC Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 BKGarry, Promethean boards do not come with 2 remotes. As mentioned in this thread you may have hitachi projectors in which case you need to look at how the projectors have been mounted and if the remote sensor on the projector has been obscured. It would be very unusual for all the remotes to be faulty. who installed these systems? Maybe you should ask them for a steer on this.
laserblazer Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Get a digital camera, your phone should do, point the remote at the camera lens and see if you can see the light in the viewfinder.
