It could be one of the LCDs in the projector is damaged, this will give the impression that one of the colors is missing. If you project a red, green then blue image what are the results you get?

I will assume your projector is installed on the ceiling? and you have the VGA already ran? For the video you just need a composite to VGA adapter or converter, you can get them cheap. Audio depends on your mixer inputs, but you can get a converter from the composite on your wii to pretty much anything.

A large LED wall is always a nice way to display digital signage, I also like the CAVE idea but usually comes at a high investment... these are some of the toys we have to display 3D content: KAUST: Visualization beyond the CAVE Investment was not as big as the CAVE but still gives visualization capability and a WOW impression.

Are these XP machines older than the Macs? I've seen issues similar on older machines playing unedited HD video, cant process fast enough.

No it means when you move the keyboard and mouse to another location you can remove the small receiver from the pc/laptop and clip it to the mouse really handy if you travel with the mouse and your laptop you wont have the receiver floating around in your bag. Just a cool little feature. The MK320 also seems to have a longer battery life than the others (they claim "Go up to 15 months without changing batteries for the keyboard and up to 5 months for the mouse")

I would go for the MK320, its the only on that mentions that the receiver snaps onto the mouse, which will come in handy even if you don't need it at first.

We use Digital Projection 3D projectors for a "Portable" 3D system: Projector Detail and a Sony 4k Cinema projector per eye in our fixed 3D systems, we use active shuttering for both. all depends on budget and application, and how awesome you want it to look

Most of the digital audio switchers I have seen are part of the video switch. I know you want at least 3 inputs but Gefen make a 2:1, generally a good brand. Our classrooms are geared toward distance learning and research collaboration, so the A/V systems we have include iMacs as the dedicated machine, Tandburg video conferencing codec, Blu Ray Player (don't know why but cool non the less) Doc Cam as well as space for a VGA and HDMI laptops all connected to 8x8 DVI video matrix. Outputting to either LCDs or Projectors depending on the size of the room. All desks have goose neck mics (video conferencing) these are connected to a Biamp Audia Flex DSP, audio output is coming from ceiling and wall speakers depending on the source (one amp each). Wireless mics are installed in the lecture halls and in cases where the proff has a soft voice. All the kit is installed in a rack at the back of each room, if anyone goes for a system like this I would have a "A/V" room and centralize per floor or area because installing a rack per room is no fun trust me

I would make .iso s out of them, that way you can burn them quickly and play them if you have something like daemon tools or vlc.

We have a large conference center that divides up into three smaller halls, we use a DSP from Biamp which does line and mic level switching to the individual zones or as one large room. Quite expensive though. I like the small mixer with active speakers idea too, relatively cheap and simple to install.

This is a strange issue, are you able to control the projector with the physical buttons? Could the IR sensor be blocked somehow?

Well for us the stripes were showing up on the internal test patterns, after troubleshooting and process of elimination with the manufacturer we said it should be the color wheel. The projectors are on the way back to the manufacturer for testing so I will know in a few weeks.

Don't know if this issue was solved but I have had the exact same problem with my DLP projectors, all were caused by damaged color wheels, dust and heat were the culprits.

We have been using the Mimio Capture for the last six months in our lecture halls, its really fast and accurate, the math proffs love it for writing out streams of calculations. But I don't see the Mimio lasting more than a year only because the electronic pens are flimsy, the actual device is not going to deteriorate too much just sitting on the white board. I havent done proper cost analysis but the mimio electronic pens/ eraser all need batteries and the e-pens need whiteboard markers inside them to operate so over time not sure the cost is much less than a Smart board which we put on a three year replacement cycle.

Most projectors come with the ability to be managed over the network: Projector People : Network Compatible Projectors I wouldn't rely on that same infrastructure to project content though. We use the Mitsubishi FL7000U and it is managed over the network but we still have video cables ran to the desks or desktops.

From my understanding the network infrastructure is vital, unless we are all on a 10gbps fiber link the communication between machines would be too slow. If we are talking 3D applications for the consumer market, games, movies etc local processing power is enough. Render farms like the one we have at my Uni are for visualizing MASSIVE data sets and models and if the global infrastructure was fast and robust enough you could do global processing I guess... anything is possible. Thats just from my understanding, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Because that would mean that I cant watch my 3D BluRays on the weekends. Fully immersive avatar ROCKS Just joking.

Can you explain your connections from the source to output? might help trouble shoot. If it wasn't the lamp I would think its a connection issue.

Ive seen flickering when the signal strength between the source and projector is weak, is there a splitter (unpowered) or very long cable in the video chain?

There is defiantly a market for this, I know that there are a few Universities in the states renting out their systems for a few thousand dollars an hour to companies like boeing and even branches of the government.
