This is the only thing that annoys me, when i cant get into work because my RWD just wont function near or on snow and there's no grit on the road.

 

However i heard majority of councils have more salt this year than they know what to do with after last year due to the media bashing, which is good.

If they have more salt then they know what to do with maybe they should try putting some on the bloody roads!!! It does annoy me when the weather forcast says for days in advance "snow, ice..." yet the council risk it and not salt anywhere. Took me 1h40m to get to work yesterday, on a good day i can make it in less than 10mins.

We got an entire hour of sleet. Now its going to get nice and cold, and freeze all the water on the roads. Lovely.

Here in Dundee they grit in advance, and sometimes several times. They also have little tractors with snow ploughs on the front they use to clear and grit the pavements. I guess that's one of the benefits of living where snow and ice are guaranteed. It's currently snowing reasonably heavily, and the roads are remaining clear.

 

Back home in the south of England it's a different story though, only one road in the village gets gritted, meaning the bus can have some difficulties on it's route (watching a double decker bus slide was funny until it was rather close!).

I had to scrape frost off the car before I took my son to scouts at 7.30pm... I'm just about to start scraping again...

TBF it did actually snow for about an hour but it has stopped now and it didnt settle. But then this is South Dorset and it is still November so any snow is a huge event

I had a massive deluge of Snow this afternoon!!!! It was an epic snow shower for all of about 30 seconds leaving a massive volume of the stuff, but it went in about 5 minutes

I love my Snow Machine that i've hired for the School Show Shame Snow Fluid is around £34 a bottle That is the only snow I want to see between now and Monday 6th December please, snow that I make and control how its made and when and doesn't stop me getting to work or the public getting to our show!

My housemate is currently hoping it will rain, so he can keep using his motorbike.

The gritted road is no longer clear, however the buses do still seem to be running.

According to the school weather station, we hit -8.9 here over the weekend. I could believe that. Home thermostat has been clicking over at 13 degrees, even with the heating running it's nuts off, our house is..not overly warm. Bedrooms are freezing, I've curtained off the living room into 2 halves to make it easier to heat etc.

 

The car was showing -5.5 this morning, battery backed that up! Electric blanket was on all night, on the lowest setting - lovely. Me, the missus and little one, all under a duvet and 2 blankets, with an electric blanket too...nobody wanted to get up. It's the upside to co-sleeping with little ones mind - you know everyone's going to be warm so the room temp becomes less of an issue!
