Dos_Box Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 (edited) It is with a heavy heart and sad keyboard that I have to annouce that Le Frog, or Prego as it has been known in recent years has closed. For at least 3 years now it has been the regular venue for our after-conf meal and drinks. It never failed to produce anything less than first class food and great service. It was also the vonue for many EduGeek business meals and meetings (mostly involving Ric and) and given the proximity to the Black Bull pub next door,it was the ideal eatign venue. Apparently it closed it's doors in October, and I only noticed yesterday when the large 'To Let' sign appeared. RIP Prego (Le Frog). You will be sorely missed. Mind you there is a cracking new Italian opened just down the road Edited November 20, 2010 by Dos_Box
featured_spectre Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Does this mean you will be taking me to the italian then?

You will be sorely missed. It's popularly probably plummeted when all the reported sightings of meatloaf dried up.
john Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Me and my techy were only discusing it the other day when driving past the junction off the M-way saying how good it was and we should go again taking our families but that won't be occurring now then
FN-GM Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Oh god when i saw the title... This is the second time this weekend i thought a forum member had passed away from reading the title....
GeeHubb Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 (edited) Oh god when i saw the title... This is the second time this weekend i thought a forum member had passed away from reading the title.... Good grief. You mean forum members have been passing away just from reading the thread titles? Does Edugeek come with a health warning? I didn't spot that in the terms and conditions! I'll have to be more careful on which posts I read! Edited November 21, 2010 by GeeHubb typo 2
GrumbleDook Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 It'll be sadly missed ... their duck was fantastic and they were fantastic when having to deal with a boisterous bunch of geeks. 1
Dos_Box Posted November 21, 2010 Author Posted November 21, 2010 It'll be sadly missed ... their duck was fantastic and they were fantastic when having to deal with a boisterous bunch of geeks. Indeed. Anywhere that could cope with 40+ geeks with zero notice dropping in on them deserves to succeed. I don't think it closed due to lack of business, but rather the owners simply got out of the restraunt business.
Sylv3r Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Couldn't fault the food when I went after the conference last year.
localzuk Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 That's a shame. Was looking forward to sampling some more of their food at some point.
