Potential Employer: "Okay, we're just about done here. One more thing, we're a modern company, and we contact the successful candidate via email. Can you just confirm your email address please?"

Me: "Yeah, sure. It's [email protected]"

Potential Employer: "Just as we thought, you won't be suitable for this position. Get out"

Potential Employer: "Oh cool, did you want to join my farming game or lend me a tommy gun in Mafia Wars? We're a modern company after all!!"

Me: "No - and suddenly the dole queue seems an attractive concept. Byeee!"

There is one very good reason for not using facebook for email - corporate filtering.

 

You can probably get to gmail and/or hotmail through filtering. Can you see companies dropping their facebook filtering to allow employees to get to their email?

You guy's are funny! You've all made my day/morning. But on a more serious note I think we all know why they want to introduce this email account service. Facebook are a bunch of cowboys looking to make a quick buck anyway they can. Even if that means selling us out, which they have done very cheaply. For all those that don't know facebook was created with good intention at first, then the gov got involved. Now facebook is used for data mining. The gov now pay facebook to collect data on us all. They want to know everything about us!

 

This is also the same for the company we all know as Google. Google have been given special rights to collect our wireless data when they are out and about taking pictures. This data is then passed on the the gov. If you don't believe me look it up. We are losing our rights and privacy. It's time we woke up.

Even if that were true, I seriously doubt you'd find any record of it anywhere.
