Friday Morning

Got to work for 9:45 this morning, as I had a doctors appointment first thing, Come into voice mail on my mobile one of our primary schools saying the software I sorted yesterday still isn't working. evne though I tested it as Admin, as a child and as a teacher on all 6 laptops. they find one laptop that obviously i must of missed and this bassically means that it isn't working on any laptop.

 

Staff: Maths wizz isn't working

 

Me: is it just on that laptop or them all?

 

Staff: On them all I think

 

Me: have the others been checked aswell.

 

Staff: Oh I don't know ill just go and see

 

me: hmmmmmmmmm

 

Staff: Yes the others work fine

 

me: Ok is it a major problem that it can't wait untill wednesday next week and ill sort it?

 

Staff: Oh i think it should be ok

 

They know i am comming wednesday morning first thing, why do they call to tell me its not working. Ive been over 3 times this week, only meant to go once a week.

 

Only just having my first Coffee of the morning, and i already feel like ripping someones head off. I think this will call for an Alcoholic Beverage tonight.

 

NM is off today and Monday so Im on my own and still people come with silly little things instead of putting them on the helpdesk. and got an e-mail from staff this isn't working and I want it for next lesson. can you come and fix it.

 

You mean you didn't check it before you decided to plan a lesson around it.

 

Today is friend its supposed to be a nice end to the week all i wanna do is curl up in a ball and sleep the day away.

'fraid not, it's supposed to be the end of the week that makes you glad it's all over.

 

Just think how nice it'll be raising that lovely pint of Liberation ale at the pub tonight, and forgetting about it all for a few days.

It must be a bad day today, Just walking upto a door and wondering why it wasn't opening as I walked upto it, I then realised it wasn't an automatic door. we only have 1 automatic door in school so no idea why I thought this one was. FAIL!!!

Surely there's an element of "fore-warned is fore-armed" about this?

 

Are you certain that it was meant in the way you tell it?

 

Staff are always going to do the stuff that you mention...Last friday, I had a similar experience, but you just gotta take the rough with the smooth.

Because they EXPECT it all to work, all the time, they don't plan ahead for every eventuality. This happens all the time, and as much as it gets on our collective nerves, I think that the memory that it IS Friday, should be enough to put a smile on anyones face!

Yes, there are times when I want to lose it too, but to be honest....this is SOOOOO much better than my previous career, that I don't mind the numpties too much!

 

(I've dealt with a whole lot worse in my time!!)
