nicholab Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Can Oracle/Sun provide provide open storage for the edugeek stand at BETT? Could sponsor provide a Intel modular server to demo small school virtualization? Any other ideas?
dhicks Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Any other ideas? I understand a number of tablet computers, in various sizes, form-factors and with various OSes are planned; a tablet running ChromeOS would be nice to try out. -- David Hicks
featured_spectre Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Why not a tablet for each OS? Chrome, Android, Apple, Windows etc Also the server room in a box thing is a good idea again, would be interesting to see it in action once again. and someone cooking steaks would be lovely
nicholab Posted November 11, 2010 Author Posted November 11, 2010 Could the server room in a box be vitalized with and Openfiler HA cluster providing storage to the other machines. Perhaps we need a mac mini server in there as well!!
Dos_Box Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 The server room in a box will be there, as well as a free wireless hotspot for our members curtesy of the Ruckus wireless setup in the SRIAB. The stand will have a 'loungy' effect this BETT with sofas and coffees tables. Also we shall not be having any terminals or anything else we can't just leave on the stand after the show finishes, as over the past few years we have found ourselves staying later and later after each show waiting on kit being picked up and it has got very frustrating. We shall be having several tablet devices on the stand including Windows, Android and iPads (hopefully) and a Sony e-book reader as well as the usual freebies and lunchtime pizza. 1
Domino Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Free coffee? I'm sure the drinks store across from us would love that ;-) but change it to red bull then we'll talk...
JJonas Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 (edited) I'm sure the drinks store across from us would love that ;-) but change it to red bull then we'll talk... What about free coffee if carrying an Edugeek mug? Edited November 11, 2010 by JJonas
jedmondson Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I have two! Two mugs would be an extravagance.
webman Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Two mugs would be an extravagance. Two? There's more than two on the EduGeek stand. You can't miss them - they stand around wearing EduGeek-branded shirts ONLY JOKING!

aerospacemango Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 ooOOOooo...Does this mean there'll be mugs on the stand? It'll be my first BETT, so looking forward to it, and would love to pick up a mug!

K.C.Leblanc Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Great ideas guys, but actually what we need on the stall is a howitzer.
webman Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Domino: I only meant John, but didn't want to single him out. Shhh
Little-Miss Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I'm getting first dibs on a mug this year damnit!!!
Dos_Box Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 And we shall also have a stricly limited amount of EduGeek glass coffee mugs. They were supposed to be ready for the conf in May, but were late. We will have about 50 of these, so you'd better ask VERY nicely indeed to get one.
Little-Miss Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Don't think they have purple ones. How rude!! And we shall also have a stricly limited amount of EduGeek glass coffee mugs.
