...Since the start of term, and just now is the first time i've had to suggest turning it off and on again.

I'm sure that's some sort of record?

And sure enough the outcome was "Oh it's working fine now."

5 hours for this for me :)

No IWBs reported as faulty though - all electricity turned on by the teachers... Now that IS a record!

First day of term for me was the usual repetition of "Its not turn on at the socket", "Its not turned on at the socket", "Its not...." :)

I've had a steady stream of "It's not plugged in" for IWB's, Visualisers, Laptops, projectors, speakers and network cables.

Most infuriating i've had is a HLTA moaning I didn't consult them before replacing MS Office 2003 with Open Office in the ICT suite. I only consulted with the HT, the dHT, and the ICT teacher on it....

We've just started some BLP thinking thing across the whole school with our students - it's about giving the students the skills to get on with it independantly.

If its good enough for the kids its good enough for the staff I think - so we've created helpdesk videos for the majority of tasks now and when a member of staff asks us to do something now we will send them the link to the particular video and get them to do it themselves - its the only way there going to learn! Loved sending the videos out today on our first day back :o)
